101 St Martin's Lane,
London WC2N 4AZ
Project Size: 6,500 sq ft
Project Duration: 8 weeks
Urbanest is a leading contemporary student accommodation provider who work closely with major universities across London. Urbanest appointed Denton to design and fit out their brand new space at 101 St Martin’s Lane with a brief to represent the company’s ethos of flexibility and collaborative working.
To entice a more social working environment we substituted physical walls where possible with grid shelving units. This created a workspace that was sufficiently divided to allow simultaneous group meetings, individual working and relaxation space whilst remaining connected as a whole.
The entrance to the floor is located in the centre of their space. Exiting the lifts you are greeted to a welcoming client area where the natural light from the atrium floods in. The zones either side of this and through the narrow core are collaborative and agile, perfect for working or having a break.
The most popular meeting space features a diverse range of furniture to provide a collaborative place to work in with a residential feel.
Their boardroom continues to reflect the image of the company, it maintains a residential feel through colour and material choices whilst the style of furniture introduces a more corporate look.
It was in the details that made this job so successful. We had the chance to sit down with Urbanest to design and collaborate, with a very flexible attitude throughout, this forward thinking approach is what created the foundation for such a successful project and a very happy client.
